Health Care Without Harm Europe and EcoQUIP+ are organising an online event to present and discuss the opportunities for increasing circularity and sustainability in healthcare by leveraging the sector’s purchasing power to stimulate innovation.

Health Care Without Harm (HCWH) Europe, in collaboration with the Hospital of Niort, have concluded a three-year pilot project to implement a circular economy model of food within the healthcare sector.

HCWH Europe has released a brand new position paper on the management of healthcare waste: Sustainable healthcare waste management in the EU Circular Economy model.

This event brought together over 60 healthcare, nutrition, and catering professionals to discuss how healthcare can play a key leadership role in making food a fundamental part of health and healing by reducing the environmental impact.

Please note that the event will be conducted in French - On 3 June, the Hospital Center of Niort will host a conference as part of the MECAHF project developed by HCWH Europe in collaboration with the hospital.

HCWH Europe’s latest publication explores the connection between food waste and malnutrition of patients, and how a healthy and sustainable food policy can help improve patient care, reduce malnutrition and healthcare costs.
