At HCWH Europe, I am responsible for the development and delivery of our Climate-smart Healthcare programme, which is growing and beginning an exciting new chapter. My vision is to transform European healthcare into a low-carbon and climate resilient sector that protects public health from climate change, and accelerates the transition to a low-carbon economy. Our activities include working with strategic partners to influence EU policy, supporting national governments in developing healthcare decarbonisation roadmaps, working with hospitals to improve their carbon management and resilience practices, and mobilising healthcare professionals to use their trusted voice to drive change. I am keen to hear about new experiences and approaches in delivering climate-smart healthcare, and I am always on the lookout for collaborative opportunities.
Before joining HCWH Europe, I spent three years with the Scottish Government, managing the delivery of large-scale renewable demonstration projects and developing national-level policy in areas of energy efficiency and low carbon heat. Prior to that, I worked in a large public body in Scotland, developing and implementing carbon and energy management practices to reduce the organisation's climate impact.
I hold a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering from Glasgow Caledonian University, Scotland, and an MSc (with distinction) in Carbon & Energy Management from Heriot-Watt University, Scotland. I also hold a Project Management Qualification (PMQ) from the Association for Project Management.
In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my family and playing golf. I also love music - listening, producing, playing guitar and fiddle, and going to gigs.
