Aidan Long - Associate Director Networks & Communications
At HCWH Europe, I am responsible for the development of the organisation's membership and engagement model (including the Global Green & Healthy Hospitals network in Europe) and I lead our communications team. I also play a central role in developing the organisation’s long term strategic plan, providing senior project and management support to the wider HCWH Europe team.
I thoroughly enjoy working with a diverse and talented team and the passion that they (and our members) show on a daily basis motivates me to continue developing and growing this unique network in Europe.
Prior to joining HCWH Europe, I spent five years working in the non-profit sector in Ireland, in the field of community development/community media. I managed two non-profit community radio stations and specialised in the areas of project and financial management, fundraising, governance, and marketing.
I hold a joint BA in Media and Communications and English from the University of Limerick, Ireland, and an MSc in Global Challenges from the University of Edinburgh, Scotland.
In my spare time I love running, swimming, surfing and hiking, and generally staying fit and active. I also enjoy reading and am passionate about music - collecting records and going to shows whenever I can. Any other spare time I have is spent travelling and/or studying Spanish - I have a particular affinity for Latin America, and Argentina in particular.
