Sustainable healthcare in Sweden

This week I am in Sweden and Denmark visiting some HCWH Europe members and other interesting groups working on sustainable healthcare.

Wednesday: Meeting with the Ecological Council in Copenhagen. HCWH Europe member who focus on Chemicals, Traffic, Energy and Agriculture.

Thursday morning: Visit to Skåne University Hopsital in Malmö, another HCWH Europe member. Lasse Benington is the Environmental Manager at the hospital and told me all about the innovative and inspiring sustainability work they has been implementing.

Thursday afternoon: Meeting with Anna Palminger from Region Skåne, Project Manager for the CLIRE project which is 'Climate Friendly Health Care' project to pilot new design and practices in two health care building in the Skåne Region.

Thursday evening: Meeting with Johannes Brundin from Sustainable Business Hub which links up Cleantech companies with hospitals to promote more cleantech solutions in healthcare - under a project called Sustainable Healthcare. They also organise Cleantech visits in the Skåne Region and will be supporting CleanMed2012.

Friday: All day with the TEM Foundation working with Daniel Eriksson to learn about the sustainability work being done at TEM. TEM is a HCWH Europe member and Daniel is on our board. TEM are running the Cleanmed 2012 conference which will be held in Malmö next year. TEM work on many different areas of sustainability including healthcare and partner Sustainable Business Hub in the Sustainable Healthcare project.
